Whether it’s the endearing service, casual atmosphere, fast delivery or authentic homestyle Thai cuisine, people cannot say enough wonderful things about Bennie’s Thai Café. What started as a small steam table inside a Blimpie’s franchise downtown has now become a financial district favorite for business lunchers and residents alike.
Bennie Boon began serving her Thai curries to her employees while still operating the Blimpie’s location, but she knew that she wanted to devote all of her time to the dishes of her homeland. And that she did; the dizzying variety of Thai specialties on offer at Bennie’s, including crunchy salads with the perfect hint of heat and tangy citrus flavor, Tom Yum-Goong soup with shrimp and a superb Pad Thai, certainly showcase her talents. But it is also the reasonable prices coupled with consistent freshness that make dining at Bennie’s (or in the comfort of your own home) a true pleasure.

To many a New Yorker, Thai food has replaced the other ubiquitous Asian options as the exotic eastern cuisine of choice. And there is no better place to dig into some of Thailand’s most addictive and unusual dishes than at tiny Boyd Thai, a quaint spot that is diminutive in size but not in taste. Quick for delivery or the perfect antidote to a hot summer’s evening with a cold glass of Thai Ice Tea, there are many ways to enjoy the pleasures of Boyd.
Pad Thai is de rigueur (and de-licious) but curries, salads and other noodle dishes abound, with levels of spiciness that cater to the most fearful and most adventurous eaters. Authenticity, service and reasonable prices put Boyd at the top for Thai.
