Neil has a degree in Brewing Science from Siebel Institute and The Doemans Academy. Before attending Siebel, Neil actively pursued homebrewing and also worked as an apprentice at O’Connor Brewing Co. in Norfolk, VA.

Kirby moved to Smith Mountain Lake just before the brewery’s opening to take position as brew-master. The California native trained at the VLB Institute in Berlin, Germany, and has managed breweries in Nebraska and Colorado.

Brian came from New Zealand to the US on an “O-1 Visa for Individuals with Extraordinary Ability or Achievement” as a hard cider expert. Woot! Besides being a top cider maker internationally and having expertise in marketing, Brian has been a sheep farmer, yacht racer, musician, orchardist and cattle drover. He keeps a keen watch for Virginia wildlife, but has yet to spot a bobcat or bear.
