7 Reasons Why I Love Walnut Creek Park In Charlottesville, Virginia!

I’m taking 60 seconds to spotlight my favorite park in the Charlottesville, Virginia area today on Miller’s Minute by I Love CVille.

Walnut Creek Park on the Southside of Charlottesville offers 525 total acres of adventure, including 45 water acres and two beachfront acres. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, you can swim and chillax on the beach (11 am – 7 pm), which is pretty sweet considering we’re in Central Virginia.

Walnut Creek Park offers some of the best mountain biking trails around Charlottesville, including a grueling 15-mile loop that I’ve struggled through multiple times. If 15 miles has you concerned, consider a rewarding 5-mile loop that offers flowy downhills, water views, rock gardens and the adrenaline you need. This 5-mile jaunt is perfect for a 2-hour window.

Walnut Creek Park features a bonafide 18-hole disc golf course that will challenge all aspects of your game, including your tolerance for H2O navigation.

Of course, there’s hiking, canoeing, kayaking and picnic and playground opportunities for children. The park is perfect for families and yet another reason why #iLoveCVille!
