Scott’s Addition is a truly unique neighborhood with people flocking to move into the area’s mixture of industrial and midcentury architecture!
1. Urban Farmhouse Market and Café
With more than half a dozen locations, Urban Farmhouse serves up wholesome food across Richmond! The café is committed to all things local, emphasizing organically grown ingredients, stocking fair trade coffees and teas, and featuring RVA musicians on evenings and weekends. What makes the Scott’s Addition location special is the spacious dining areas – indoor and out – separated by large track windows. The perfect scenery for working while sipping a cup of coffee or catching lunch with friends!
HackRVA has been called many things; a nerd clubhouse, a gym for the brain, and – most commonly – a makerspace. The nonprofit essentially provides space, tools, community, and learning opportunities for its members through workshops and meetups. Interested in joining? Open houses are held every Thursday night.
3. Hardywood Brewery
Voted the Top Rated Brewery in Virginia for 2015, Hardywood Craft Beer is nothing shot of its expectations! Enlightened by the taste of fine ale, Hardywood’s two owners have been happily brewing in Scott’s Addition since 2011.
4. Fat Dragon
Fat Dragon Chinese Kitchen and Bar puts a modern spin on classic Chinese cuisine! Dishes are sustainability-oriented, featuring local and natural ingredients. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are readily available!
5. King of Pops
No longer confined to sidewalk, pop-up stands, King of Pops now has a permanent location in Scott’s Addition! These all-natural ice pops are the perfect snack for residents of “The 5th Sweatiest City in the US.”
6.En Su Boca
Tacos, guac, and margaritas – En Su Boca has it all and does it right!
7. The Hofheimer Building
One of the few examples left of exotic revival-style architecture in Richmond, the Hofheimer Building is a sight for sore eyes! The spacious venue comes equipped with a massive rooftop patio sporting some of the most sweeping views of the neighborhood. Check out their Sunsets at the Hof series this summer!
Sabai offers authentic Thai street foods straight out of Bangkok! The space itself is a visual experience, packed with swinging seats and opening garage door windows. Looking for a late night spot? Their cocktails are some of the best in RVA!
9. Ardent Craft Ales
Starting as a home brewing project, Ardent Craft Ales has received overwhelming support from the Richmond community through their open house lessons on brewing and beer. The brewery is one of many in Scott’s Addition, diversifying the area’s drinking palate!

Commonly revered as the comfiest theater seats in RVA, Movieland successfully revamped the historic train station the building once housed. Small theaters enable the space to often screen limited release and indie films.
11. The Dairy Bar
A Richmond family tradition since 1946, The Dairy Bar serves up breakfast, lunch, and (most importantly) dessert!
